Chief Accountant for our hiring partner a multi-venue sports complex located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It encompasses residential and commercial developments, as well as a range of sports facilities. The area is designed to support a healthy lifestyle and community, with venues for cricket, football, rugby, golf, and other sports. Key facilities include the Dubai International Stadium for cricket, which can hold 25,000 spectators, and The Els Club, an 18-hole championship golf course designed by professional golfer Ernie Els.
Requirements- 3+ years in a leadership role within an accounting department.
- Experience in F&B or B2C trading sector (i.e. a sector with significant daily B2C sales).
- Ready to work a lot, in a team of like-minded professionals.
- Fluent English; Russian and Arabic would be a plus.
Key competencies- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Proficiency in generating accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, and adhering to regulatory requirements specific to the F&B sector.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Ability to develop and manage budgets, forecast financial outcomes, and implement cost-control measures to ensure profitability and financial health of the business.
- Taxation Knowledge: Understanding of the UAE's tax regulations, including VAT implementation and compliance, excise taxes, and any other relevant tax obligations in the industry.
- Cash Flow Management: Expertise in managing cash flows, including receivables, payables, inventory, and credit control, to maintain liquidity and support operational efficiency.
- Internal Controls and Audit: Implementation and monitoring of internal controls to prevent errors and fraud, and coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure financial integrity.
- Strategic Financial Planning: Ability to contribute to strategic planning, providing financial insights and analysis to support business decisions and long-term financial planning.
- Operational Analysis: Competence in analyzing operational performance, cost structures, and profitability of different segments within the business to drive efficiency and growth.
- ERP and Financial Systems: Proficiency in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other financial software to streamline accounting processes and provide real-time financial information.
- Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills to manage and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the F&B industry dynamics, market trends, and operational challenges specific to the UAE market to make informed financial decisions.
Responsibilities:- Set up all processes related to accounting department.
- Manage a team of 10 people and ensure low turnover.
- Design correct policies and procedures related to the budgeting process and others for four legal entities.
- Participate in automation initiatives.
