Description
Our partner is a multinational corporate group that is engaged in distribution of IT-products in Europe, Middle East and Africa emerging markets.
We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing & Technical Project Manager based in China to bridge the gap between our engineering team and local manufacturers. In this dual role, you will lead the end-to-end procurement process while managing technical project timelines. You will be directly responsible for identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, evaluating technical capabilities, and ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality mechanical components and electronic products.

Supplier Communication & Procurement
Technical Project Management
Timing & Production Control
- Source manufacturers across China specializing in custom mechanical components, PCB production, and electronic device manufacturing
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, tooling costs, and master supply agreements to optimize costs
- Manage relationships with existing vendors and establish a robust backup supplier network
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, production capacity, quality systems, and technical expertise
- Coordinate RFQs, supplier selection, and vendor qualification processes
Technical Project Management
- Translate requirements between our internal engineering teams and factory technicians
- Review blueprints, 3D CAD models, technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications with manufacturers
- Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) discussions and provide feedback from suppliers
- Audit manufacturing processes to ensure strict adherence to quality and tolerance standards
- Coordinate prototype builds, engineering validation, pilot production, and mass production activities
Timing & Production Control
- Build timelines for prototyping, tooling development, PCB fabrication, assembly, testing, and mass production phases
- Track production milestones on-site or via regular factory check-ins to prevent bottlenecks
- Monitor supplier performance and production schedules to ensure on-time delivery
- Resolve delays proactively by identifying alternative manufacturing methods, suppliers, or expedited logistics solutions
- Coordinate shipping schedules and supply chain activities to meet project deadlines
- CNC, casting, stamping, welding, fasteners — deep mechanical expertise
- PCB/PCBA/SMT and electronics components sourcing
- 4+ years technical sourcing/purchasing in China, direct manufacturer relationships
- Prototype-to-mass-production experience
- Native/bilingual Mandarin + professional English
- Blueprint reading, BOMs, GD&T
- ERP, PM tools, negotiation, supplier management
- Willingness to travel within China
- NPI, ISO 9001
