Description
Our client is an international technology company that develops its own solutions for the automation and robotization of manufacturing processes.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who can do more than just design individual parts—we need someone capable of designing the entire mechanical component of automated manufacturing systems: from individual assemblies and fixtures to conveyors, motion mechanisms, and the integration of robotic manipulators.

- Mechanical design activities for industrial automation and custom machinery projects
- Develop concepts, layouts, 3D models, detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Define mechanical architecture and key design principles for automated equipment
- Select materials, standard components, purchased parts, and mechanical systems
- Coordinate mechanical design with electrical, controls, automation, manufacturing, and project teams
- Identify technical risks and ensure robust engineering solutions
- Support supplier selection, technical discussions, fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning
- Participate in troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement of automated systems
- Ensure mechanical designs meet safety, quality, performance, cost, and schedule requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in industrial automation, machinery design, or special-purpose equipment
- Strong hands-on experience designing automated production equipment, assembly lines, robotic cells, conveyor systems, fixtures, tooling, and custom machinery
- Experience taking mechanical designs from concept development through manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, commissioning, and production support
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams, including electrical engineers, controls engineers, automation engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and project managers
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM
- Strong ability to develop complex 3D models, large assemblies, detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, technical specifications, and engineering documentation
- Deep understanding of machine design principles, mechanisms, motion systems, structural components, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, servo-driven, electromechanical, and robotic systems
- Experience selecting and integrating standard components, purchased equipment, sensors, actuators, drives, linear motion systems, and safety components
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and tolerance analysis
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including strength of materials, kinematics, dynamics, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, surface treatment, assembly, and testing
- Experience designing equipment with consideration for reliability, maintainability, safety, cost, lead time, and ease of production
- Understanding of PLC-controlled systems and the interaction between mechanical design, controls, sensors, and actuators
- Ability to identify technical risks early and propose robust engineering solutions
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics, Electromechanics, Automation of Technological Processes and Production, or a related discipline
- Experience with robotic automation, vision systems integration, packaging equipment, assembly automation, material handling systems, or high-speed production lines
- Experience with design standardization, modular machine design, and continuous improvement of engineering processes
- Experience participating in FAT/SAT, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and production ramp-up
- English proficiency sufficient for technical documentation, supplier communication, and engineering discussions
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality
- Ability to work effectively under project deadlines and changing technical requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proactive, accountable, and comfortable taking technical ownership
