Our hiring partner, a financial institution, is seeking a Manager, Application Development to lead their Symitar core development team. This is a strategic leadership opportunity within an agile environment where you will oversee full-cycle application design and delivery in support of enterprise banking systems.
The ideal candidate will combine deep hands-on knowledge of Jack Henry technologies (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU, etc.) with strong leadership and people development skills. You'll work closely with the AVP of Application Engineering and enterprise stakeholders to shape and execute scalable software solutions aligned with the company’s long-term roadmap.
Location: Broomfield, Colorado (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage a team of application developers, focusing on both custom and vendor-packaged solutions.
- Oversee team delivery across scrum teams and business units; manage planning, performance, and resource allocation.
- Define, review, and enforce software architecture standards and coding practices.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts and implement best practices in application development and agile project delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including PMO, HR, IT, and external vendors to align application development with organizational goals.
- Manage development related to core systems including Symitar, MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, and more.
- Contribute to enterprise application strategy, lifecycle management, and vendor roadmap alignment.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and bring forward recommendations for innovation or efficiency.
Must-Have Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in financial technology environments, specifically with tools like: Jack Henry Suite: Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU
- Additional tech: MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, Image Center, OpCon, COTS
- Experience with version control, testing practices, and modern software development methodologies.
- Proven leadership and team management experience with emphasis on coaching and development.
- Strong project delivery experience in Agile/iterative environments.
- Strategic mindset and ability to influence stakeholders at the executive level.
