Cyprus | Full-time | OfficeA leading financial services provider with global operations is seeking a Head of Compliance Monitoring to oversee the monitoring function across its Tied Agents in the EU region. This is a high-impact leadership role with strategic and cross-functional responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitoring Strategy & Execution- Lead the development and supervision of the communication monitoring framework (calls, emails, tickets) for all EU-based Tied Agents
- Ensure alignment with internal policies and evolving regulatory standards
Policy & Compliance Framework- Own and maintain relevant compliance policies and procedures, including those related to AML, monitoring, and communication standards
- Support local adaptation of group-wide compliance requirements across jurisdictions
Regulatory Audits & Governance- Coordinate annual audits under various European National Competent Authorities (NCAs)
- Supervise compliance functions in Tied Agents, including those without dedicated compliance officers
Risk & Reporting Oversight- Oversee preparation of monthly/annual compliance monitoring reports
- Identify trends, recurring issues, and coordinate remediation and root cause analysis
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration- Act as the primary liaison for all compliance monitoring matters across departments
- Drive alignment with internal audit, risk, and legal teams
Training & Culture- Set communication and compliance standards for Tied Agents
- Lead training initiatives in AML and regulatory conduct
- Foster a culture of transparency and ethical behavior
Strategic Advisory & Optimization- Advise Customer Support and Business teams on monitoring risks
- Continuously enhance monitoring methodologies, controls, and KPIs
Your Profile- Degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years in a senior compliance, audit, or regulatory role (financial sector preferred)
- Proven experience in managing multi-jurisdictional or cross-office teams
- Strong knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks, AML/CTF practices, and conduct regulations
- Fluent in English (additional EU languages are a plus)
- Strong project leadership and stakeholder communication skills
