Compensation & Benefits Manager. This is a strategic role with both hands-on and leadership responsibilities, overseeing the design, administration, and compliance of employee benefit programs while managing two direct reports.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring programs are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals, while serving as a trusted partner to both employees and leadership.
Key responsibilities and objectivesBenefits Administration:
- Oversee day-to-day management of health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement, and wellness programs.
Claims & Reconciliation:
- Lead reconciliation of self-funded/self-insured medical claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Vendor & System Management:
- Act as primary liaison with carriers, TPAs, and technology providers.
- Manage benefits administration through UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) systems.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure programs comply with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
Strategy & Cost Management:
- Evaluate plan design, manage renewals, and analyze utilization data.
- Implement cost-control strategies while enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction.
Employee Support:
- Serve as a trusted resource to employees for benefits questions, enrollment, and claims resolution.
Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop two direct reports, driving performance and career growth.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Deliver regular reports on plan performance, cost drivers, and utilization to senior leadership.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or CEBS/PHR/SHRM preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits management.
- Hands-on expertise with UKG HRIS/benefits modules (required).
- Strong knowledge of self-funded/self-insured plans and claims reconciliation.
- Prior leadership/people management experience strongly preferred.
