As part of their continued expansion, the firm is seeking an experienced AVP – Enterprise Risk Officer to join their Operational Risk Management group in Jersey City. This is a high-visibility position working closely with cross-functional teams, including potential exposure to C-level leadership.
Role OverviewThe Assistant Vice President – Enterprise Risk Officer will support the development and implementation of enterprise-wide risk frameworks, partner with the business on operational risk identification, and help shape a robust risk culture across the firm. This is a critical role for someone with a strategic, hands-on mindset and strong financial services experience.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in developing and enhancing the firm’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework
- Support end-to-end RCSA, KRI/KPI design, and risk governance initiatives
- Act as a partner to first-line business units, guiding risk incident reporting and resolution
- Drive creation and alignment of Key Performance Controls (KPCs)
- Contribute to Management Risk Committee reporting and related materials
- Identify and close gaps between business units and ERM processes
- Highlight opportunities for continuous improvement across risk and control practices
- Lead and deliver on firmwide and cross-risk initiatives
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Risk Management, with at least 5 years in ERM in a financial institution
- Strong experience with risk assessments (RCSA), key indicators (KRIs/KPIs), and governance
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and risk-reporting tool proficiency
- Familiarity with GRC platforms and risk visualization
- Series 7 license preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with FINRA and SEC regulatory frameworks is a plus
Compensation & Benefits- Competitive base salary up to $140K + bonus potential: 10–15%
