Network and Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network and Infrastructure Engineer to support and manage our hybrid technology environment, which includes cloud, virtual, and physical components. In this role, you will oversee data communications, virtual server environments, and hardware infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
Virtual Environment Management:
  • Maintain VMware virtual server and VDI environments.
  • Act as the VMware VDI subject matter expert and provide technical escalation for help desk tickets.
  • Monitor, optimize, and balance virtual environment resources to ensure high availability.
Technical Support & Systems Administration:
  • Install, configure, and test operating systems, applications, and system management tools.
  • Perform regular system updates on Windows operating systems, VMware appliances, and monitoring applications.
  • Troubleshoot and perform problem determination on local and remote systems.
Network Infrastructure:
  • Install, support, and maintain hardware infrastructure, including routers, switches, WiFi controllers, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot and provide support for Voice/VoIP systems.
  • Collaborate with third-party ISPs and vendors as needed.
Security and Monitoring:
  • Conduct regular network security assessments and monitor network usage to anticipate potential issues.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to detect intrusions and ensure network reliability.
  • Manage firewall and VPN administration, network documentation, and incident response.
Documentation & Communication:
  • Create and maintain documentation for applications, processes, and training materials for IT staff and end users.
  • Act as a technical liaison between internal teams and software vendors.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within corporate network environments.
  • Proficiency with VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A history of continuous learning and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service.
